my Debian box is fried due to my violation of one of life's simplest rules: if it ain't broke, don't fix it

see, i was using the old LILO boot loader and it was taking about two minutes for my system to boot. so i decided to update to the new version of GRUB, which would have made my system boot in the f**king blink of an eye. i unpackaged the file and it installed perfectly fine.

then i restarted. turns out my desktop was so old and shitty that it couldn't actually run GRUB. it shut itself down. no boot loader means no boot.

no boot means no way to uninstall GRUB.

good thing my laptop is better than that piece of sh*t could ever be.
